The CFP Disaster Financing program gives short-term financial help to local governments (like cities or counties) after a disaster or severe weather event. The goal is to provide money until state or federal disaster funds arrive, or to help cover required local matching funds.
Any North Dakota local government in a county that has officially been declared a disaster area by the President or the Governor can apply.
To get the funding, the local government must apply through the Capital Financing Program and show that it can repay the loan—either using disaster aid from the state or federal government, or from its own tax revenue.
